My name is Francesca, and I am a single mum of a beautiful 17-year-old daughter. We live in Lancashire, but I am originally from a small town near Florence in Tuscany, Italy. I have been in the UK for nearly 24 years.
Divine Victory Aromas was born out of my love for candles, wax melts, and alternative remedies like aromatherapy. After losing both my parents within three weeks of each other two years ago and experiencing the challenges of peri-menopause, I found myself struggling with anxiety and low moods. I turned to essential oils in room steamers, reed diffusers, and candles, and found they helped me relax.
Being a creative person, I wanted to learn the craft of candle making. The candles I used to buy from big shops and supermarkets produced black smoke that deposited on furniture, which was not good for our health, especially since my daughter has asthma. I decided to make soy candles using essential oils for their therapeutic benefits and sourced high-quality fragrance oils for their variety of scents.
I believe a cozy, relaxing, and organized home is essential for our well-being, as our environment greatly affects our general and mental health. My goal was to create elegant luxury products that are affordable and sustainable. Almost all our packaging is recyclable, and I try to reuse shipping boxes. I wanted to produce candles with beautiful, strong scents that fill homes with aromas creating the perfect ambiance.
THE MISSION
Another driving force behind creating this business is my desire to support a cause close to my heart: Domestic Violence Awareness. This inspired our logo and mission statement, "She believed she could, so she did." I aim to inspire and encourage domestic violence victims to escape unhealthy relationships, promote self-love and self-worth, and share a light with all victims, one candle at a time. Financial insecurity often prevents women, especially those with young children, from leaving abusive situations. Therefore, we support Refuge, a charity that helps victims with everything they need. You can donate to this amazing cause at checkout, and I will be donating as well. As the business grows, we plan to do even more to support this cause, and I will keep you updated in my blog posts.
